New Years Resolution!

New Years Resolution

I'm sick and tired of people "pretending" that
the beginning of a New Year will influence their lives.
I hear people day in and day out these past two
weeks saying that they will begin "running" "cycling"
"change their diets" or what not, but FIRST they
are going to eat as much as they want until Dec 1st.
I say if you aren't doing it NOW, then a New Years
resolution won't make a difference, it'll be like
the year before and year before that with only broken
promises.
As adults why do we continue to lie to ourselves?
Being healthy and losing weight is a way of life,
and that first step and that first pedal has to begin
when you want for it to begin.  So go out there and
ride your bike!  Go put on your running shoes! and
stop making excuses on why NOT to be healthy and
make excuses to go out there and enjoy your life!

Here is a poem that I found online:

sweating under the setting sun
breathing hard, almost done
just a little longer, just keep going
my obvious pain must be showing
muscles screaming, tendons protest
knee joints aching, needing a rest
my legs, they argue wiht my brain
this is too far!  are you insane?!
and yet they persist, following orders
on the brink of heat exhaustion my condition borders
youre almost there, you can make it
dont slow down, you can take it
sweating under the setting sun
breathing hard, finally done

Finally, it looks like a got a late Christmas present but I told my buddies at Reebok that my shoes were dirty from the Honolulu Marathon, I asked if I should wash them outside with a hose or just toss them in the washing machine.  His response was don't through them in the washing machine!  I'll just send you some more shoes.  I am NOT going to argue with that!   :)
I have run 113 miles this month and to be honest I probably took a week and a half off, so I am kinda proud of that!

Weapon of Choice

First off.. don't leave your camera laying around when you are home with family, some people are known to take pictures while others are attempting to catch up on Jet lag.

I also saw this spelling error "again" and "again" I figured that they had broad casted it so much that it would have been removed.  I have to admit that it was easy for me to take this photo.

it should say:
Down from "THIRD" floor balcony... this was from the whole mall massacre when it was breaking news at that time.
And last... thanks to Reebok for hooking me with the kicks for the Honolulu Marathon.

My days in Hawaii passed too fast and my days at home where even shorter.  I fly out to Indianapolis tomorrow, I am only suppose to be there for three days and nothing more... I hope that this stays true.  As the Crocs Marathon Tour has ended for the year I will be starting up again with a boat show in San Diego California right after the new year.  It should be fun since I don't mind experiencing new events!

The Honolulu Marathon

When I first signed up for the event I had tons of different things that I was going to say... to be honest I didn't even know if I would be able to finish.  I don't consider myself to be a runner and I especially do not consider myself to be a marathoner.
I signed up for several reasons... Ever since I started this tour the numbers 26.2 basically have been haunting me.
I usually have to work the finish line and or make a drive across the country right after the event.  This was my last event for the year and I did not have to work the finish line since Nike was a title sponsor we were not allowed to be there.
I had a lot of peer pressure to end the year off with a bang, all the other vendors that I have grown to know and grown to love.  We have shared our lives with each other and now we share the Honolulu Marathon.

I can only say thanks for all of the support that I have been provided...
this was for all of my:
Friends
Virtual friends
&
Family...

Winter Challenge

I entered this winter challenge on the Nike+ website to see who could hit 50 miles before the year ends... I thought that I had an advantage and I could kill some good miles because I am in Hawaii right now!
Well this was my run today...

and apparently the date on my ipod is wrong and the challenge started on the 3rd but at 11pm!!! and my ipod is still set around 2-3 am
so basically I missed out on those miles :(
I am going to talk to my friends at Nike today to see what they can do to help IF there is a way to change it!

Peace Out Las Vegas...

My journey is coming to an end and Vegas was the second to last event for the year.
Today I am boarding a plane to fly out to Honolulu for the Marathon.  It is a pretty long expo and I will be there until the 10th.  With all of this COLD weather going on I really can't wait until I get here!  The bad part is that after Hawaii I will be flying to Indianapolis for about a week to help finalize the tour.
here are the pics:

below is one of the generators for the Hoover Dam.  This is truly a rare site!  This is the first time in 26 years that they are not turning, they are off for maintenance!

While in Vegas, my g.f. , my good friend Heidi, her father and I all crashed a VIP party for the Hawaiian Tropics restaurant.

it's what we do ;)
