Violated.

On Saturday morning I woke up and put on an IF jersey to go ride with the team. This also was going to be the first day that I get to try out my MTB with the skinny's to see how they perform. I am happy to say that I am extremely satisfied with them and the best word I could describe riding on them is fun!
After my ride I come home and there are a few things missing... I don't really want to go into details... but I guess I feel that I need to vent! Someone broke into my house and stole a few items and I want to leave it at that.
Below is a pic of me waking up... not knowing what was going to happen while I was gone.

Skinnys on a MTB!

I know that this looks pretty funny... and it probably looks like a commuter bike! But this was a recommendation from Pro MTB'er Nick Martin.
Tell me what you think of the new look??? :)

The Dirty Dozen...

is a 12 hour MTB race that I have done for the past 3 years. I have never truly had a goal to that race but to finish it! Last year was probably the most competitive year I have ever had with a decently fast teammate. I also have never really trained for it either, I would usually just show up the day of the race and do it! Well this year I have the same teammate as last year and I plan on atleast being semi-prepared for the race this year! So now that the Duathlon is over and I met all the goals that I wanted... I will be spending a lot more time on my Mountain Bike.

Here are some pics from last years race!

Amazing what the pictures look like when you take the background out and leave the focal points... Leave some feedback and let me know what you think! ;)

Just "Du" It

The Duathlon was a lot of fun! I tried my hardest and I guess that's what counts the most right? :)

There were 3 goals that I had for this event:

  • Beat my old time or atleast do it in 1:50 minutes
  • Do the run section without stopping
  • and to atleast podium and get top 3 in my category

I did the race in 1:43 minutes, I completed the run section without stopping and I barely made the podium with a 3rd place trophy haha.

Below are some pics from the race and people that I raced with:

I Usually Only...

use my MTB for races, and spend all my time training on my road bike. I bought a pair of MTB shoes for 30 bucks almost 3 years ago haha! so I felt that it was time that I traded them in!

24 Hours of Moab

Today I am going to do some braggin' for some fellow friends... and fellow Racers ;)
First I want to congratulate Jeff for finishing 3rd place at the Triathlon at the beach! :)
and Second I want to congrats to Brian Smith, and Nick Martin for finishing second over all in their category. Looking at all the pics and hearing all the stories helps get me pumped up for my 12 hour MTB race! :) I also will be running a 2-man team ;)

In The Tour De France...

We as spectators for some cynical reason enjoy or no wait are excited to watch someone crash. Most people only watch Nascar to see someone hit the wall, or boxing to watch someone get his lights knocked out, and I am no exception...

Well today I have never felt more guilty since I have been riding a bike. I was the actual cause for someone sliding across the pavement. I know that he'll live and that I'll live but at that moment "sorry" wasn't even close to making me feel any remorse...

This Weekend...

I drove up to Houston and back... so I am a little exhausted, although that obviously didn't keep me from running a 5k last night. I am sad to admit that I had to stop during the run :( Although my time was still 25 minutes. I will post up some pics from Houston when I get around to it since I have so much to do already. I have to finish TruckToyz Wallpapers, The Rio Grande Valley Classics, NEW banner for Nick Martin pro MTB racer, and still try to balance my job full time, school full time, and fit in my running & riding obsessions somewhere! :) I'll live and if I don't you can have my road bike A-Ron ;)

here's a funny pic that Chessdogg e-mail me!

Lance Armstrong's War

OK, I know that I am a poser for buying this book! but it was only $18.88 at Wal-Mart and I DID do 100 miles! :)
Of course I'll keep you updated and let you know if it was worth the money!
Something funny happened to me yesterday... I have a Polar Heatrate monitor the S610 and I have NEVER had any problems with it... and I have never cleaned it since I have had it. Well I decided that it deserved a good cleaning! so I did, and now the thing doesn't work! :(

Yesterday at...

the PanAm track, Jeff and I went to go do some intervals... it was a pretty nice track but I was "suffering" to keep up. The good part was that I didn't have to stop and that's my biggest goal in this years Duathlon! :)

I'm Jealous...

of my father's new bike! It's mostly ultegra w. a full carbon frame and they even upgrade his crank for free! :) what a deal haha!

I also went for a run tonight... I truly need to learn NOT to go after the rabbits! It started when I heard his footsteps in the background behind me... I knew then that "I" was the rabbit, so of course I naturally but conservatively picked up the pace... he then passed me which of course I "wanted" him to do to "think" that he was out running me... I like to keep them in sight till they have nothing left then take advantage and pick the pace up a little more till they can't hang on. Well in this case... I ran myself into the ground and had the worst time ever in a 3 mile run! :(

Any tips on how to NOT chase the rabbits?

My First Century...
