Marine Corps Marathon Part 2 *photodump*

Too many pictures not enough time! Same ol' story huh?

Below:  You never see plaques like this at museums!

BLING* Bling*

Below:  It's weird, I used to find these fossils when I was young playing in the desert in Arizona.

I don't know why that kid is looking forward, if Orville is flying a kite to the right?

This last picture is pretty sad.. it's sad because I used to use and play with these things when I was a kid.  NOW they are up in a museum!  :(
Where have all the years gone?  :)

Marine Corps Marthon Part 1

I arrived to D.C. a couple of days early for the Marine Corps Marathon.  I needed to go to the bank, so I thought that I was super smart and mapquested it instead of using my gps.
I walk out from my hotel lobby and take a right.  I knew that it was a mile more or less.  After MOSTLY walking up hill I see a police officer and ask him where this address is.
It's located 3 miles back, and that I had already walked 2 miles.  "sigh" oh well, that's what I get right?
So I continue my 3 mile walk back after already walking 2 to the bank.  I finally arrive, and walk up to the teller... I soon realize that I forgot the bank account number!  so now I have to walk 1 mile BACK to my hotel to get it from my luggage!  After that it was just a "lost" cause!
Hey, at least I got some cool pics while exploring the city!

The pics below are from the Race Expo the race and in between.

basically this is what happens when you put in 40 hours in 3 days!

Detroit Recap 2

Ok... so much to blog soo little time!
Mostly pics with funny stories!
We can start with the Canadians... first off they don't like bacon, I asked them and that question only makes them upset.  "Note to anyone out there"
But they sure do love the color red!

These pics are mostly for my fellow Texans who don't get to see anything change, especially the weather!

Here is a pic of a fountain show at the finish line the night before the race for the Detroit Marathon.

This guy said that I had earned my badge for legit street cred.

He also said that if you didn't agree with him, then you can discuss it with him after school.

The cool part about being in different cities is hanging out with other sponsor friends :)

AND the crazy new staff that you get to work with every weekend!

I NEVER thought that I would ever need to wear that beanie coming from SOUTH SOUTH SOOOOOOUTH Texas!

I left Detroit Sunday and after I finish up some loose ends, it's back to work again "crackin' the whip" on myself.
There is a nice trail behind my hotel... I will prob check that out tomorrow and do some site seeing also!

Detroit Recap 1

If you have not read on Jahowies blog I have failed.
But on a good note... I finished my book "The Fred Factor."

Not a bad read if you have A LOT of time to kill waiting for your teammates!
Also it's a MUST to check up on Piojo!  He did his first 24 hour solo MTB race this weekend, stop by and drop a line.  CONGRATS MAN!
As Sager would say, I was in Detroit working on my street cred.
lets just say I ran into some touchy situations...

So after all of that excitement, we got hungry and headed over to Chipotle to order some "good food!"
I have more pics, but since it's been a couple of BUSY BUSY days there has been lack up time to update.  I am in DC again for the Marine Corps Marathon.  The weather is nice outside for a small jacket, which would be great if I didn't leave mine in Detroit!
Any loaners jackets in the DC area?!  :)

platano herb?

The banana plant is not a tree. It is actually the world's largest herb!
I had a couple of well deserved days off.
When I got home I came upon this in my back yard...

When I first bought my house a couple of years ago, my father came over and planted some trees.  I basically ran most of them over with the lawn mower with the exception of one.  Well.. I've been gone for so long that when I came back fruit was growing off of it!

So If you are cruising around my neighborhood and you need something to help you from cramping... feel free to stop by and grab one for yourself ;)

Monday Morning...

Rise and Shine everyone!  It's the beginning of a new week!
Here are some pics from my days off, all just random, nothing that makes sense...

Below:  Waitin' for the taxi in San Jose...

Waitin again' to board the plane.

Finally!  On my way home!

Basically I spent most of my time with family, my biggest supporters while  I am on tour.  As much fun as I make it look, it's hard to not sleep in the same bed everyday and to wake up to a new city that looks and calls you a stranger on a regular basis.

Did you know... that there are more 'fake' flamingos in the world then there are real ones?  I don't know where I read that, probably one of those spam e-mails that everyone opens and sends each other every Monday morning!
More random shots:

For those of you that cared... or didn't.  I upgraded my Flickr account.  So all of my pictures are viewable again.  I had to loosen up that wallet and it was really hard to do, but it was accomplished!
I leave on Tuesday to Detroit.  While I am there I need to see if I can arrange a way for jahowie to get into the race.  I hope that he's still in shape if I can pull this off!!!
