Forest Fires

While we were on our way to Vail, CO we went through some really nice passes and followed some rapids around! There also has been a lot of fires lately and we ran across a small brush fire. I got a few pics of this also.

This garden snake was sliding across the Lacrosse field during the tournament haha!

Here are the pics of the brush fire... If you click on the pictures you can actually see the helicopter getting water with a bucket from the river right in front of the fire! How fortunate for the house that they saved!

The pictures really do not do the fire justice and or the people that worked hard to put it out.

Sonoma, Cali

So I spent last weekend in Sonoma, Cali for some good ol' NASCAR. Here are the pics!


In Santa Rose the city that we were staying in had A LOT of Snoopy statues all over the down town area. I called this one "Snoopy Dogg" with all his gold bling and the pimp cane.

On the way over to Vail, CO we stayed a casino in Wendover the border of Nevada and Utah.

Ok... I know that I am "late" with these pics but basically I was stuck in Sonoma in a hotel that had no WiFi. Man I have become so dependent on that! It's almost like I pick a hotel on whether they have WiFi for more than anything else! haha... it was 'advertised' that it had WiFi, but it just never worked the whole time!
All I can say is that I have been super busy and it's been an amazing week since my last post. Even though I am posting these pics there are still plenty more!
Usually the events that I am at are Marathons and Triathlon... well this past weekend the Nascar team needed some help so we met them at the Sonoma Race track "Infineon." Man they really really put on a big show before the race actually gets started!
I am back in Co, but instead of boulder I am in Vail. We are here for a lacrosse tournament, this should be pretty interesting!

From Boulder, CO to Sonoma, CA

I only pack the "bare" necessities...
I wore the "Free Jason Sager" shirt a couple of days ago and you would not believe how many people walk up and ask you about the shirt and all the strangers that just create conversation from it! It caught me off guard more than one time!
I worked my way leaving Boulder in complete happiness and tomorrow I should be in Sonoma.. along the way I have stopped at Salt Lake City, Utah and right now I am shacked up in S. Lake Tahoe... the elevation to get here was above 8,000 ft!
I have pictures for the adventure over and of course will have more after Sonoma. Usually since I am part of the Special Events team for the marathon tour we were only doing "marathons" & "Triathlons". But this weekend we will be doing some NASCAR. I'll add more pics later! Cya guys!

Boulder, Colorado THUS far!

Man I am a HUGE photo blogger! I think I have gone through three cameras already? Anyway I have some pretty cool news for myself!
All I can say is that the Internet is a funny thing especially bloggin' and I have realized it before, but I guess not to this extent. I rolled into Boulder, CO a couple of days ago and shot out an e-mail to Nick Martin. He was nice enough to invite me out and show me the town.
After meeting up with Nick, Jason Sager walks up next to me and says "What are you doing here?"
At first we only knew each other through blog, but it's cool to hang out with these guys and find out that their personality reflects the way that they are on their blogs.

Overall I have had a great visit, Boulder is a beautiful town with beautiful people... it is really nice to see how cycling friendly it is with bike paths everywhere you look! There are a lot of signs saying to watch for cyclists and what not. You don't see that in my home town!

I will be here for a couple of more days and then off to Sonoma, CA for some good ol' NASCAR!

Boating Trip in Austin, TX

While in Austin, TX this last weekend, it happened to be Robbie's b-day so we rented a boat knee boarded and wake boarded across the Travis River. To be honest with you guys I am NOT the swimmer and probably one of my first times on a boat since I was a child... but after it was all said and done I had so much fun that I felt like it was my birthday!

I have set up base camp in Boulder, CO now and will be here for a few days until we set sail to Sonoma, CA. I heard that it is beautiful country!

We had been pretty busy lately so we finally got a chance to get some fresh air! or water? Whichever the case it was good to finally relax a bit!
