Daily Special
Sorry the picture is blurry... I had to do a drive by shooting for this one! It seems that all the Subways are doing a promotion and putting "Daily Special" to all their signs. This one inparticular has been spelled incorrectly for almost two weeks! So I was forced to share! A good deal anyway!

Ring Side...
I few of my friends are the fight Doctors for local boxing matches... my father has a couple of ambulances. So my friends call me up and ask if my father can be the company with the paramedics. It's actually pretty cool watching a boxing match from the ring side, to tell you the truth I am not even a big boxing fan! After watching the fights, you still respect boxing just like you do any other sport.
above: is one of the trainers heads (he wouldn't move)
Above: is my father with the "main event" MOST of these boxers are actually built like cyclists!
Above: Is one of the paramedics with the ring girls.Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I guess I am not good at taking action shots, atleast in boxing... it's still not the same as a bike ;)

Change Settings

Word Verification: I had to add this feature due to all the recent "spam" posts that I have gotten. The weird part is that I was being spammed in older posts, but none the less it still fills up my mail box. I truly attempted to stay away from the word verification to make the site as user friendly as possible. It seems that the spammers have gotten the best of the site! :(

Thor...
His last day was yesterday at Bicycle World, I liked to bug this poor kid for some reason... I think because he actually owns a bike. Other than Mondo he was the only other tech that rides a bike, atleast that I can think of... He's off to Austin and I wish him well!

Package...
those little things in the middle are some Trek tattoos... I guess this was HIS bag because on the strap it has his name on it. I'll get a chance to use it on the 12 hour MTB race! ;)

For Non-Pro Cyclists
Right now I know that a lot of people have given up on the sport of cycling... or "lost faith" maybe even sports altogether. Here is a video that Jeef has provided and I felt was important to share...
:::Typed in grey is the true story:::
Dick (60) and Rick (42) also participate as a team in triathlons – grueling combinations of 26.2-mile runs, 112-mile bicycling, and 2.4-mile swims – a remarkable feat considering Rick’s inability to walk or talk. At birth, a coiled umbilical cord had wrapped around his neck, cutting off oxygen to his brain and leaving Rick a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy.
When Rick was eight months old the doctors informed the Hoyts that he’d be a vegetable all his life and that they should just put him away. But Dick and Judy Hoyt had connected with their wounded infant. During a recent phone interview, Dick told me that an extraordinary bond instantly formed between father and son.

The Aftermath...
A couple of days ago we had a small weather storm... I took some pics of the "aftermath"
Above is the neighbors house on the "right" with a tree falling and breaking their fence...
Above is a pic of the neighbor on the "left" with a tree falling and breaking their fence...
This trampoline is detroyed with broken springs and all...
I don't know why it didn't fall off... but I just thought this pic added to the chaos ;)I thought it kind of weird for my neighborhood really that got messed up because I didn't see anything else around the city, I just feel fortunate that my fence wasn't torn down by the "small storm."

Friendship...
Friendship is:
- The quality or condition of being friends.
- A friendly relationship: formed many new friendships over the summer.
- Friendliness; good will: a policy of friendship toward other nations.
Have a "hoppy" day! :)

Lance at Academy...
I found this to be interesting... I was walking around Academy and ran into Wear Yellow jerseys and shorts. There were mostly only shorts left over, but I guess you never see that so that's why I found it to be so odd? :) They were "still over priced!"

The Tour So Far...
I have been watching the Tour here and there... I think Piojo was right that it's hard to consider watching when the podium winners last year are ALL not racing. I have to admit that it is starting to become better... Did anyone see that crash from yesterday??? I like to watch the crashes, but I HATE to be in them! Did I miss a TTT somewhere?Thursday, July 13, 2006

Peking Acrobats...
This weekend the Dodge Arena had the Peking Acrobats. This event was different from the same ol' singers that they bring again and again. I was fortunate to be able to watch these people perform amazing stunts. What I found the most interesting is how much I related all of the discipline and focus to cycling, I know that a lot of the audience watching the show did not "appreciate" it as much as a cyclist would.

An Alarming Situation
Pete, a coworker decided that he wanted an mp3 player and asked for me to go with him to BestBuy to help him pick one out. After choosing one we leave BestBuy and the alarm goes off... the guy in the front just waves us through so we proceed through the doors. As we get into his car we are driving on the expressway and I look at the mp3 player and it is STILL in the "security device!" Let me tell you from experience that if you do intend on stealing , it is extremely hard to open these things!

A Peach A Day...
ok maybe it's suppose to be an apple a day, but I once saw a cycling video where a pro cyclist was eating a peach and the guy with the camera goes up and asks why was he eating a peach does it make him ride faster??? His response was that it had vitamin A and C that Vitamin C helps retain water which is good for us while riding and also helps keep the body tempature cooler. I later discovered that Vitamin C is not naturally produced by the human body and is good for protecting the skin from UV rays.
Here are some other facts...
Here are some other facts...
- The United States provides about one-fourth (25%) of the world’s total supply of fresh peaches.
- The peach is a member of the rose family and will have a sweet fragrance when ripe.
- Most peaches that are imported to the United States during winter months come from Chile.
- Peaches are the third most popular fruit grown in America.
- peaches are virtually fat free. A medium size peach contains less than one gram of fat.
- peaches are naturally sodium free.
- peaches have no cholesterol.
- peaches are a low calorie snack. A medium size peach contains only 40 calories.
- peaches contain vitamin A which helps us see in dim light.
- peaches are considered a good source of fiber. The skin of a peach provides both roughage and fiber.

Random Pics
Allez asked what I did with my Trek stickers so here are some pics while I am out GPS Hunting... This one is of a praying mantis that "was" chillin' on my shoulder :)
Random Signs...
If you look closely you can see the bird on the nest... I couldn't get a closer shot because I tried and he flew away :(
And last, do not park on private property or else someone will call the cops and you will have a hard time explaining what you are doing... I took this shot incognito.
Overall I just hope that you enjoy the quality of the pictures Saturday, June 10, 2006
Trek Stickers
Ok NOT this Trek sticker...
I e-mail Nick Martin a couple of days ago asking him for some Trek stickers and he comes through again! I didn't think that he would ship them out that fast though! We knew he was obviously fast on the bike and I feel bad because he's on the road right now. I just want for you to know that I am NOT selling them on e-bay but he sent 50 stickers and right now they are going for 7 dollars for 4 haha. E-bay auction click the link Piojo it's safe I swear ;)
