My Days Off...

I did a small jog on the boardwalk and some geocaching...
My days off are not like "everyone" else's. They get their weekends off while I am working, and while they are working that's when I get my free time.

I also fed the sea gulls...

and flew a kite, after I was done with the kite... I gave it to a family with children ;)

Above: That's a nearby hotel w. a small waterfall.

that pipe is there to rebuild the beaches of Virginia... a lot of beaches are looking towards other sources to preserve and to rebuild the beaches in order to keep the tourists coming back. Places like Florida and New Zealand are actually putting recycled glass back on their beaches.

This is a picture of swordfish designed to look like palm trees. It's right next to my hotel also. My friend and I had dinner their last night, so I figured that I "finally" need to get a picture of it!
My week starts all over again and I will be working the rock and roll half marathon.

East Coast Surfing Championships aka ECSC

The surfing tournament was a success.  You could tell that it was really well supported locally from the turn out.  Even the Mayor stopped by to show her presence.
Being one of the sponsors helps the experience also.
We had VIP access to all of the live bands that were playing, free dinners, beer "if" you drink, and the other vendors would shower you with gifts also!
Most of our hook ups were from
and of course I got one of these fine watches ;)
It's funny being on the beach the WHOLE day and the WHOLE weekend, you see a lot of "crazy" stuff!
Below:  This is a picture of a new age pirate

There were plenty of these guys out.  I figured that if there was buried treasure out there, someone else would have found it already.  So I am just assuming that they are looking for items that people have lost :)
Some of the other sponsors ad buses:

Below:  This is the winner from the women's category...
she earned herself a free pair of Crocs.

Below:  Also this was pretty weird to see... a couple of guys were on top of boxes and megaphones telling everyone, that if they did not turn to Jesus they would burn in hell, but as I passed by I saw this girl standing next to him with the exact opposite message.
I don't like to discuss "religion" or "politics" but I just thought that you guys might like to see it.

Later that day, the event coordinator told me that I was a judge for a side event that was happening at the ECSC.

This was the event. "Bikini Contest"

After the event, all of the girls got a pair of Crocs.
This was the first place winner showing off the one's that she chose.

After a long day and weekend I headed to my room and hit the sac.

West Coast to the East Coast...

After being stuck in D.C. I woke up around 4:45 in the morning to ensure that I got onto this flight.  As We were about to take off, I looked out my window and I could see the White House.

After one of the shortest flights I have probably had in my life, I finally make it to Virgina Beach.
Here are a few pics from my hotel room.

It's really nice here... I am on the top floor of the hotel with a view of the ocean. I have my balcony open right now, and the smell of the ocean is coming in while I am listening to the live band play :)

This will be one of my longest stays since the tour started.  I will be here for a couple of weeks, so expect some beach pics!

Sleepless In Seattle...

I asked around on why it's called "Sleepless in Seattle."  Apparently it's only a movie, unless someone else can answer that question for me.  I have a few theories of my own !
First, my hotel was set-up next to a train yard... but that's only on that part of the neighborhood.

Second would be this...

Did you know that Starbucks was founded in Seattle?  This is a pic of their original shop at Pike's Pier.
I walked down there on my time off to see what the fuss was all about.

have to support the locals!  Plus Mango's are sooo good!

This next picture makes me laugh... if you read the bumper sticker it says "The Sound Never Sleeps."

Also on my day off I like to eat banana splits and do laundry... ok, I don't enjoy doing laundry... but look at that banana split!

Right now I am in Washington D.C.
I was suppose to be in Virgina Beach right now, but the flight was over sold.  It was between me and my buddy.  He was already tired and wanted to be there already.  I didn't mind because they shack you up, with a food voucher & a free travel voucher to anywhere in the U.S.
NOT like I need to travel anymore!

Still In Seattle

I will be here until Wednesday... which is coming up pretty soon.  From there I will jump on a plane that will take me BACK to the east coast, Virgina Beach to be exact.
Here are some pics from the event and weekend.  It was mainly cold weather and rain the whole time so for once I actually lacked on photos!
This is one of the first landscapes that you will while entering Seattle.

Below:  Hotel View at Bellevue and some random pictures of the plaza that we stayed at.

I really like the way the sun hits the monument and leaves a shadow against the building.
Here are some pics of the expo plus the event... we kinda had bad weather, but the crowd was still strong!

After the event, we had some time to relax and we hit up PF Changs...

I slept in the next morning until around 9 or 10ish.  I had to run around and get some errands done, so I took some pics of the city.

Above:  If you look really close to the street there is color on it also!
it looks like I took a couple of more pictures than I thought :)
